Originally founded by local outdoor enthusiasts, Cactus Outdoor have manufactured and sold outdoor gear that is ethical, dependable, good for people and good for the planet for over 26 years.
Based in New Zealand, with two stores in Christchurch and Wellington, they have built a loyal following of outdoor enthusiasts and trade professionals. The Outdoor Apparel industry is experiencing a major global boom. In 2019, user penetration is expected to reach 19.4% and by 2022, this is forecasted to reach 22.5%. (1). This has ensured the company is investing their finite manufacturing capacity and store floor space in the right product lines and that they have appropriate forecasts across all stores and channels.
Doubling revenue of seasonal promotions.
Using the powerful customer analytics and marketing tools within Retail Express, Cactus have been able to double their sales on some of their key campaigns.
Retail Express is used to inform Cactus Outdoors key seasonal sales. For example, for their March sale, they were able to identify slow and fast moving stock and combine that for each weeks promoted products. “We paid particularly close attention to tees and jandals, and adjusted the price to increase sales. This saw us double sales from the previous two months.” says Gregg Hagen – Chief Operating Officer at Cactus Outdoor. They also use Retail Express to identify trade professionals who are eligible for their “Pro Users discount” across the whole product range. They promote this program at trade shows, in-store and online. Cactus Outdoor are able to easily generate targeted list of their Pro Users for highly relevant email campaigns.
